Our next camp-out is just around the corner and will take place at Hillsborough River State Park, located at 15402 US 301 North, Thonotosassa, 33592. Their telephone number is (813)987-6771. Directions are as follows:
Driving Directions
Hillsborough River State Park is located 9 miles north of Tampa and 6 miles south of Zephyrhills on US Highway 301. From I-75, Southbound from Ocala take the SR 54. Exit #279 east to Hwy 301, travel South for 6 miles, and the park will be on your right-hand side. From I-75, Northbound from Tampa take the Fowler Ave. Exit #265 east to Hwy 301, travel North for 9 miles, and the park will be on your left-hand side. From I-4, West bound take Exit 10 go north on CR 579 to US 301, follow the signs and go North 7 miles the park will be on your left-hand side.
When you arrive at the park, you will have to stop at the ranger station.
Let them know you are with Pack 20. The pack will be paying the camping and Ft. Foster tour costs.
Plan on arriving the afternoon of Friday evening. We will be departing Sunday between breakfast and lunchtime. Activities will include a nature trail, a tour of Ft. Foster, and various games. There will also be time alotted for den activities needed to earn achievements or electives. The pack will provide smores supplies for campfire activities Friday and Saturday nights. Each family will be responsible for their own meals; however, group cooking (by den) is encouraged.

Every year, council conducts an event called "Tiger Time." Although this year's location has not been determined yet, the event will be taking place on Satuday, January 12th (yes during the Hillborough River time). If you are interested in having your Tiger Cub attend, the information is as follows:
- What: A half-day of fun for a Tiger Cub and his adult partner
- Date: Saturday, January 12, 2008
- Where: Council Service Center (the building where the scout store is).
- Time: 1:00 – 4:30
- Directors: Robert Marra
- Cost: $10.00 per Tiger - Cost includes a patch for each Tiger Cub, and a variety of make-and-take treasures.
- General Info: Tiger Time will give the new Tiger family an opportunity to spend some quality time together under the leadership of trained Cub Scout camping specialists. Tigers will work on a variety of fun and challenging activities, many of which are right in line with Tiger Cub achievements and electives.
- What to bring: Clothing for the weather, comfortable shoes—maybe a folding chair (for the adults!).
